Responsibilities INTRODUCTION: This position is located within the Business Division of Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Bowling Center Branch, Iwakuni, Japan. The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate Bowling Center operations. The position reports directly to the Bowling center assistant manager. SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The incumbent has full responsibility for the smooth operation of a 20-lane bowling center in the absence of management during days, nights or on weekends, to include entertainment arcade programs, pin-setting equipment, pro shop, desk operations, food and beverage concepts, and bar operations. Uses a general knowledge of the game of bowling to assist customers in selecting equipment best suited for their needs. Leads Recreation Attendants, contractors and other staff required across different departments to identify potential issues and resolve them in a timely manner. Is responsible for cash funds and daily cash receipts in multiple locations. Performs various cash handling duties such as issuing change funds, ringing cash registers in/out, reading registers at designated times and completes DARs, etc. Complies with non-appropriated fund procedures, maintains required accountability records. Issues, receives and secures change funds and income from shift supervised. Assures adequate maintenance, sanitation and cleanliness of the Bowling Complex and its equipment. May direct mechanics to conduct minor maintenance repairs. Receives customer complaints and attempts to resolve them. Refers major complaints or incidents to the Complex Manager or appropriate authority. Closes the Bowling Complex and assures that all entrances and exits are secured and that no unauthorized persons remain in the complex. Conducts fire checks, secures fund container at the completion of the business day. At any given time, may oversee the food and beverage concepts, directing the culinary team to maximize efficiencies during the operations. While assigned to the fast casual concept, will ensure quality control measures are taken confirming quality products being served to our patrons. Maintains sanitation standards, overseeing a culinary team during all stages of preparation, storage, and service of products to include temperature controls and First in First Out (FIFO) standards in the storage units. Ensures all areas are clean and equipment turned off prior to securing the kitchen space. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications One year of experience in basic accounting and cash handling. One year of shift-lead experience. One year experience in recreation and/or customer service. Must become Food Handling Certified within 3 months of employment. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, early mornings and late nights. Must be a minimum age of 20 years or older. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 20lbs independently and objects over 20lbs with assistance. Proper safety equipment will be provided. Position involves prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking. Please include MONTH/YEAR and HOURS per week for all previous work experience listed on the resume.
