Postdoctoral Associate
A Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Associate position is available in the Flyak laboratory in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Cornell University. A candidate will drive a fully funded antibody-discovery project.
At the Flyak lab at Cornell University, we study human antibody response to viral pathogens. We are currently focused on discovering the main principles of effective antibody response to the highly genetically diverse Hepatitis C virus - a leading cause of chronic liver disease and liver cancer. The candidate will use cross-disciplinary tools to dissect human antibody response to Hepatitis C virus. Working with other Flyak lab members, the candidate will also contribute to the structural characterization of isolated antibodies and the development of a prophylactic HCV vaccine. About you:
The candidates should have a Ph.D. degree and first-author publication(s) published or accepted in a peer-reviewed journal(s). Desirable candidates will also have good experience working with animals and excellent mammalian cell culture and flow cytometry techniques. Prior experience with single-cell immune repertoire sequencing is preferred but not required. Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required.
