Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Scholarship and with minimal supervision, the Associate Director will focus on enhancements of the recruitment, diversity, and yield for the Two-year residential MBA program. Serving as a member of the Admissions Committee, this person will be responsible for providing insight and guidance on selection and yield in their territory(ies) as well as assessing admissions criteria to develop effective recruiting & yield plans, evaluate applications, conduct admissions interviews, attend recruiting events, and recommend scholarship decisions. This position works with Consortium applicants, military applicants, first generation applicants, and applicants to our dual degree programs.


The Associate Director will be responsible for the planning and execution of our annual diversity events, such as Johnson Diversity Hosting Weekend and Johnson Military Preview.


Additionally, the Associate Director works closely with the Executive Director of Admissions and Scholarship on developing our year-long recruitment events calendar. As well, this position works closely with the Director of Admissions and Scholarship on developing and executing a year-long yield strategy.


This position should also have proficiency with our admissions database system, data management and analysis for reporting and territory management.


Frequent travel (domestic and international) is required.


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color.
  • Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages, and backgrounds.
  • Bachelor's degree with two to four years of experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience with a quantitative, market-based approach to planning recruitment activities and exceptional oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through.
  • A clear understanding of, or the ability to understand, higher education issues.
  • A commitment to excellence and to providing a high degree of customer service.
  • An outgoing nature that is comfortable working alone but also as a member of a team in a high-volume environment is essential.
  • The ability to travel internationally and domestically is a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business or education is preferred with at least five years of related experience in a progressively responsible admissions position.
  • Experience managing a team is helpful and a track record of success as the position is one of high visibility with high expectations regarding professional conduct.
