American Academy of Pediatrics Program Evaluation Analyst in Itasca, Illinois
Grant Funded, Hybrid 40% Onsite Requirement
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, is seeking a strong collaborator with qualitative and quantitative data analysis, statistical analysis, and data visualization skills. This role will support measurement, analytics, and evaluation activities for AAP Extension for Community Health Outcomes (ECHO) programs and other assigned quality initiatives, public health programs, and trainings.
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Measurement and Evaluation, some duties include:
Collaborate with the Manager, Quality Measurement and Evaluation, the AAP ECHO project leadership teams, and other key internal and external partners to assess program performance.
Propose measurement and evaluation components for assigned AAP ECHO programs and other AAP initiatives with input from manager and other key partners, including data collection tools, materials (change packages, project charters, key driver diagrams), surveys, and other assessments. Implement methodologies and tools to monitor program performance, outcomes, and impact for AAP ECHO projects and other initiatives. Assist in the design and maintain dynamic dashboards and data visualizations that track program performance, outcomes, and impact in real time.
Develop and implement processes for data cleaning, standardization, and validation to ensure high-quality datasets for program evaluation.
Analyze historical program data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement, supporting decision-making and program optimization.
Use evaluation findings to support program staff and participants in ongoing quality improvement (QI) efforts. Use evaluation findings to provide continuous quality improvement support to other staff and participants
Assist with identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements to streamline data reporting and enhance operational efficiencies.
Use quantitative and qualitative data collection and analytic methods to support assigned AAP initiatives. Inform program and lead data analysis and reporting in conjunction with external experts as needed.
Lead the design and creation of slides, reports, and other visual presentation materials to effectively communicate data insights and evaluation findings to diverse audiences.
Support the development of Institutional Review Board (IRB), Maintenance of Certification (MOC), Continuing Medical Education (CME), and AAP Quality Improvement Data Aggregator (QIDA) applications, as needed.
Assist in the development and implementation of the AAP QIDA workspace, including designing questions, assisting with participant onboarding, analyzing run chart reports, and providing monthly recommendations for improvement.
Assist with the management of REDCap data collection software, and provide technical guidance on the use REDCap, including troubleshooting and user support.
Provide support and guidance to pediatric practice participants taking part in AAP ECHO QI programs.
Assist in the creation of metrics, indicators, and evaluation frameworks for QI projects.
Collaborate with staff, advisory committees, and faculty experts to ensure completion of all grant deliverables.
Contribute to grant reports, internal and external project tracking spreadsheets and databases, and communications with grant agency and other stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of articles and abstracts for publication and/or presentation at national pediatric and quality improvement meetings.
Respond to inquiries and correspondence from program collaborators, AAP staff, AAP fellows and other physicians, allied health professionals, governmental agencies, higher education institutions, and other organizations regarding program activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications needed:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, public administration, health education, or related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience, including some course work or formal training with a focus on program evaluation, measurement, or similar training in quantitative and qualitative analysis methodologies required.
At least two years’ related experience in public health program coordination/management, including program implementation, evaluation, and developing and fostering partnerships with key partners. Experience in health education, healthcare quality improvement, rural health, mental/behavioral health, or related field highly desirable.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy, verbal/written communication, project management, critical thinking, and analytical skills required. Must be detail-oriented and able to complete work with a high level of accuracy. Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in qualitative (e.g., Atlas.ti) and quantitative data analysis methodology and related statistical (e.g., SPSS), and visualization tools applications (e.g., PowerBI) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as the ability to learn and apply new technologies; experience with document collaboration platforms (eg, SharePoint) and virtual meeting platforms (eg, WebEx, Teams, Zoom) preferred. Proficiency in creating polished, visually compelling presentation materials that distill complex data into actionable insights. Familiarity with database design and management. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, handle a heavy workload, work both independently and as part of a team, think creatively, take initiative, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Some travel and evening/weekend work may be required, as well as the ability to be flexible with work schedule to accommodate physicians’ availability.
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $79,866.53 - $84,303.70. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs, and organizational policies. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hybrid working arrangement of 40% on-site at our Chicago suburb headquarters in Itasca, IL.
