Description

We are seeking a Power BI Developer to join our team in Itasca, Illinois. In this role, you will be focused on developing and optimizing data systems and ensuring that data is distributed in a timely and accurate manner. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity within the tech industry, where you will be expected to leverage your skills in Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Cloud Technologies, Database, EO/IR systems, Algorithm Implementation, Analytics, Apache Hadoop, API Development, AWS Technologies, Microsoft Power BI, and Power BI.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage efficient data pipelines, ensuring reliable data provision for the organization.

• Utilize experience with PBIX, Power BI Report Builder, RDL and paginated reporting on Power BI to enhance data visualization and reporting capabilities.

• Optimize the performance of business-critical queries and deal with ETL job related issues.

• Implement security measures through experience with RLS (row level security).

• Leverage cloud technologies and experience with AWS to enhance data storage and retrieval processes.

• Develop and maintain databases, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.

• Utilize Apache Kafka and Apache Spark for real-time data processing tasks.

• Design and implement algorithms to optimize our data sorting and retrieval methods.

• Leverage knowledge of Apache Hadoop for distributed data storage and processing.

• Develop APIs to support data access and integration.

• Be available to be on-site at the client location for 2-3 days a week.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Data Engineer role or similar.

• Proficient in Apache Kafka and Apache Spark.

• Familiarity with Cloud Technologies is required.

• Strong experience working with Database systems is necessary.

• Experience with EO/IR systems is a plus.

• Proven ability in Algorithm Implementation.

• Must have a background in Analytics.

• Proficiency in Apache Hadoop is essential.

• Strong experience in API Development.

• Familiarity with AWS Technologies is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and Power BI is essential.

• Must be able to collaborate with a team and independently.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize them effectively.
