National Safety Council Part Time Instructor, Workplace Safety in Itasca, Illinois

    We are currently looking for a Part-Time Instructor, Workplace Safety to join us in our mission to save lives and prevent injuries.

    Position Highlights:

As an NSC Part-time Instructor, you will deliver OSHA regulatory training and NSC proprietary safety and health training.  This is an as needed training position, meaning you could be teaching twice a month or more depending on your schedule and what courses need to be taught. . The NSC Part-time Instructor will have knowledge and skill in teaching most of the following training within the Advance Safety Certificate Program: Principals of Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management Techniques. Job Safety Analysis, Team Safety, Incident Investigations, Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene, Safety Inspections, Industrial Hygiene Basics, Safety Training Methods, Risk Assessment, and Ergonomics. In addition to the Supervisor Safety Development Program.

What You’ll Do:

Course Facilitation / Instruction (95%)

  •  Prepare for, organize and conduct participatory health and safety training / educational sessions -ranging from one to five days – using/maintaining the integrity of the National Safety Council curriculum.

  • Lead safety training modules through the WebEx platform, use engagement tools such as Poll Anywhere

  • Engage participants and monitor the effectiveness of the training.

  • Conduct course finalization through the NSC LMS system.

  • Attend occasional Instructor meetings virtually.

Course Administration (5%)

  • Represent National Safety Council and manage classrooms, materials, and records.

  • Participate in course & trainer evaluations.

  • Conduct course finalization through the NSC LMS system.

  • Attend occasional Instructor meetings virtually.

    We’re Looking for Someone with: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in safety management, business management, health, or education field.

  • Professional designation preferred (ASP, CSP, CHMM, CET, OHST, etc.).

  • A comprehensive understanding of safety management, occupational health and hygiene, OSHA standards and requirements, and other pertinent regulatory agencies and requirements is necessary.

  • Background in Industrial Hygiene

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

  • Must demonstrate leadership quality and be able to work with minimal supervision

  • This is a remote position

  • Salary is $60-80/hr
