• Design & Development: Create detailed mechanical designs for end-of-line packaging and automation equipment, including conveyors, sorting systems, palletizing, and robotic integration.

• CAD Modeling: Utilize 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create and modify mechanical components and assemblies.

• Prototyping & Testing: Lead the prototyping and testing phases of mechanical components, ensuring functionality and manufacturability. Provide support for design validation and verification.

• Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, controls, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of all components and systems.

• Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues, providing practical solutions to design challenges in a timely manner.

• Documentation: Generate and maintain accurate design documentation, including assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical specifications.

• Design Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve design performance, cost efficiency, and manufacturability to meet customer requirements and project timelines.

• Customer Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand their specific packaging requirements and tailor designs to suit their needs.

• Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support to the manufacturing team to ensure designs are fabricated accurately, and assist with assembly as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the packaging, automation, or manufacturing equipment industry.

• Skills:

o Proficiency in 3D CAD design tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

o Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.

o Experience with sheet metal design, structural framing, and motion control systems.

o Knowledge of industry standards, including safety regulations and quality management.

o Experience with simulation tools (e.g., FEA) for stress analysis and design validation is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00
