The EMS Repair Technologies Sub-Section Manager demonstrates leadership and accountability in Materials Science and Chemical Engineering projects and programs. In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals and contribute to overall business strategy.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and administrative management for the team.

• Accountable for the team goals, metrics and performance indicators. Responsible to continuously improve current state of teams’ deliverables and outcomes

• Leads the Lean implementation, uses Lean to improve operational performance and KPIs

• Conceptual, or theoretical activities relating to the development, improvement, and usage of materials, coatings, and processes undertaken to build, apply, or shape the materials.

• Develop and maintain a productive working climate, promoting teamwork and cross-functional efforts to achieve and maintain excellence.

• Execute the engineering strategy within sub-section and contribution to EMS department strategies.

• Maintain broad awareness of technical efforts within the work group to assure technical excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources and consistency of methods across programs.

• Leads others to find creative solutions within complex processes with technical variety. Interacts with adjacent functions to solve issues.

• Evaluates quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

• Anticipates problems and risks, developing and executing abatements plans to them proactively.

• Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to act and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.

• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

• Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.

Required Qualifications

• This role requires experience in the Engineering/Technology & Materials Science and Engineering

• Strong and effective cross-functional teaming, coordination and communication skills

• Highly motivated, self-starter who is passionate about improving material and coating technologies and processes

• Demonstrated accountability, ownership skills and diligence in meeting commitments within tight schedules

• Demonstrated Project Management skills with the ability to plan, communicate, market, execute, control, document and close tasks, projects, programs
