Position title: Statutory Accountant

Location: Istanbul (European side), TR

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Contract type: Permanent

Your Role & Team in a Nutshell

As a Statutory Accountant, you will prepare statutory accounts, adjust Turkish GAAP entries, reconcile US GAAP valuations, manage audits, complete VAT returns, and ensure compliance. You will handle employee withholdings, personal income tax filings, and manage import/export transactions.

You will be part of a dedicated finance team of three people, based in our Istanbul office.

We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Annual Statutory Accounts for the Newell Turkey legal entity using Logo .

  • Adjust Turkish GAAP entries, including fixed assets, inventories, revenue reclassifications, and bad debt reserves.

  • Reconcile Turkish GAAP accounts payables and Accounts receivables.

  • Format Accounts as required by Turkish regulations.

  • Generate Management Reports

  • Manage Statutory Audits and liaise with auditors.

  • Complete VAT Returns monthly and annually, ensuring VAT compliance.

  • Handle Bank payments and accounting records .

  • Record Accounting Entries accurately.

  • Manage Income Tax filings, both monthly and annually.

  • Assist Auditors with Corporate Income Tax returns and act as the local contact.

  • Ensure Legal Archiving of documents.

  • Initiate Improvement Projects as required.

  • Process Import & Export Accounting Transactions.

  • Complete Cost of Goods Sold Transactions.

What You’ll Need

Minimum:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience in similar positions/industry.

  • Fluent Turkish and advanced English (both written and spoken).

  • Good command of MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and advanced Excel skills .

  • Knowledge of Logo system
