Costco Wholesale Corporation is seeking a Database Administrator for its Issaquah, Washington office.
Job Duties: Evaluate, review, and manage database resources and services in support of the Costco's Oracle and iSeries landscapes. Set up and maintain database infrastructure from the ground up. Deploy and maintain Database infrastructure/objects. Maintain database security, integrity, and availability. Manage database performance and capacity. Implement database design enhancements. Collaborates with the Development team and the server administrators for dropping/adding partitions, index maintenance including Reorgs, data purging etc. Review and approve Forms, table and index creation using the Turnover process. Maintain detailed documentation of database Design/Architecture and setup. Establish procedures for backup/recovery and disaster recovery Establish database security procedures. Support to the user community using incident and problem management tools. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field. Plus one year of experience in: Production database administration; Unix platforms; Performance tuning; SQL and iSeries languages; and DB tools/utilities including Toad, Enterprise Manager, Utilities, SQL Developer IBM iAccess.
Alternative requirements: In lieu of a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus one year of experience in Production database administration; Unix platforms; Performance tuning; SQL and iSeries languages; and DB tools/utilities including Toad, Enterprise Manager, Utilities, SQL Developer IBM iAccess, employer accepts three years of experience in: Production database administration; Unix platforms; Performance tuning; SQL and iSeries languages; and DB tools/utilities including Toad, Enterprise Manager, Utilities, SQL Developer IBM iAccess.
