Heidelberg Materials seeks to future proof its cement operations with increased digitization and operational capability. The overarching goal is to centralize operations, and to achieve operational excellence. For this purpose, it is establishing the Heidelberg Materials Remote Optimization Center (HROC) in its headquarters in Irving, Texas.

As a Training Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and facilitating specialized training content for functional engineers across Cement Plans and the Competence Center for Cement (CCC). Your expertise will enable you to deliver content to a diverse range of engineering functions, including Quality, Process, Reliability, Systems, Outage Planning, and Kiln Operation and Control.

What You’ll Get to Do

  • Implement a companywide training program for North America with best practice delivery techniques and content.

  • Manage the planning, design, and development of instructor-led training content, including electron learning modules tailored to each functional role.

  • Participate in the review, revision, and approval process for education and training content to ensure continuous improvement of training material.

  • Maintain the relevance and accuracy of training material by regularly updating content to reflect the latest industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements.

  • Collaborate with subject matter expects from the Competence Center Cement (CCC), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and World of Knowledge platform to develop comprehensive training content.

  • Work closely with Plant Managers, CCC Technical Experts, and Heidelberg Remote Optimization Center (HROC) to build a training schedule and oversee end-to-end training logistics, including completion of reporting and metrics.

  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies related to training delivery, ensuring a smooth and effective learning process.

  • Provide regular updates on training development timelines, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and milestones.

  • Maintain up-to-date training records for each functional role defined in the scope, supporting the tracking of employee development.

  • Determine classroom requirements and manage reservations, ensuring that training sessions are well-equipped and conducive to learning.

  • Monitor attendance and report class participation, analyzing engagement and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Organize and deliver Train the Trainer sessions to empower internal trainers with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively deliver training.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

  • Proven experience in delivering technical training with a demonstrated ability to deliver content effectively.

  • Previous experience developing and delivering technical training in various formats, such as in-person, WebEx, Centra. and e-learning.

  • Strong knowledge of the cement manufacturing processes and industry best practices.

  • Solid understanding of training delivery and development processes, including trends in adult learning.

  • Excellent editing or proofreading skills.

  • Ability to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams for completing tasks or driving training projects

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Must possess a self-started attitude with the ability to quickly adapt and implement training plans.
