Baylor Scott & White Health Senior Foundation Officer, Employee & Annual Giving in Irving, Texas
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Foundation Officer - Employee & Annual Giving for Baylor Scott & White - Irving Foundation (hereafter “Irving Foundation”) reports to the Foundation Director and implements strategies and secures funds to reach their annual fundraising dollar goal. Responsibilities include implementing the annual hospital employee giving (Give to Change) campaign. Also, this development professional will produce and send annual mail and electronic appeals to donors and prospective donors, either in collaboration with system colleagues or under the direction of their supervisor for Irving Foundation. This individual also will research, write and submit grant requests to solicit funds from foundations and corporations and provide on-time stewardship to grantors. This person also will create fundraising event strategies and budgets; track milestones and fundraising progress; solicit corporate and individual sponsors; maintain and grow a pipeline of donors and volunteer leadership; and manage post-event stewardship donor follow up. This person also may have the opportunity to work on additional fundraising projects, as assigned, including third-party events.
This position requires ongoing collaboration with Irving Foundation colleagues, board members, donors, community volunteers, physicians, and employees at all levels of the organization. It is a multifaceted role that requires the ability to analyze strategic and complex data in ways that support effective and measurable goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Employee giving campaign (Give to Change) management
Drive employee engagement, raise funds and foster a culture of philanthropy specifically among employees at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Irving
Work closely with Irving Foundation’s campaign lead, organizational leadership and various clinical departments to ensure campaign success
Manage campaign activities, milestones and deadlines
Manage creation and procurement of “Gifts of Gratitude” for the entire system
Execute a comprehensive communication plan to promote the campaign
Work with Give to Change system team on planning and implementation of the annual fund drive
Organize campaign kickoff and stewardship events and engagement activities to motivate employees to participate
Identify, recruit and train employee volunteers to assist with campaign activities
Directly solicit funds from employee donors, typically leadership gifts
Monitor campaign progress and regularly update leadership and team members on fundraising achievements
Annual Fund
- Produce and send annual mail and electronic appeals to donors and prospective donors, either in collaboration with system colleagues or under the direction of their supervisor for Irving Foundation
Grants
Research, write and submit grants on time and work with grant vendors to secure funds for prioritized projects
Proactively works with hospital leadership to track results made possible by grants
Submits required stewardship reporting on time to grantors
Event fundraising
Work collaboratively with Irving Foundation to identify, engage and manage board and/or committee members for assigned events
Responsible for donor engagement and achieving fundraising goals through underwriting, sponsorships for assigned events and though annual giving
Evaluate progress toward financial goals and make strategic revisions to fundraising plans
Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure successful execution of assigned event(s), capture event attendee information, activate stewardship plan and identify potential event donors for major gift pipeline
Develop compelling messaging around sponsorship opportunities to ensure effective communication
Support or conduct face-to-face visits, solicitations and other high-level interactions with volunteers, donors and prospects
Assess giving potential, recommend target ask amounts, facilitate donor asks and develop personalized strategies for sponsorships
Drive event stewardship strategy and execution
Provide detailed, timely and accurate data entry of relevant information in RE
Manage event budget, including event expenditures and revenue, with the goal of maximizing funds raised against expenses
Effectively communicate action items, statuses and potential issues/risks appropriately throughout the course of assigned events/project(s)
Work with other team members and volunteers as needed to optimize event strategy
Conduct post-event evaluations to measure return on investment (ROI) and gather insights and use feedback to refine future event strategies and improve processes
Third-party events
Responsible for managing some third-party event requests, including event agreements
Serve as the main point of contact for third-party event partners by providing necessary information, support, documentation and stewardship
Collaborate with partners to align event messaging and branding
Other
Ensures proper and timely donor acknowledgement and recognition, when applicable
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous way
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Ability to work with and motivate a broad spectrum of people including person donors and prospects, board members, physicians, administrators, volunteers, and staff
Familiarity with the moves management methods and techniques of gift solicitation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of prospect research tools available and knowledge of how to access and use those products
Proven track record of success in coordinating and securing gifts is a plus
Familiarity with Blackbaud’s Raiser's Edge or NXT is a plus

EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
