Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior SCCM Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment and operations of Microsoft’s configuration center suite as it pertains to Endpoint devices to include environment patching, image creation and application packaging.

Job Duties:

  • Architect, implementation, configure and management of Automatic Deployment Rule - ADR for windows and known windows software updates. Responsible for automation, advertisement, or deployment software applications into SCCM application framework

  • Architect, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of operating system images process for endpoints including laptops, desktops and thin clients

  • Lead interdepartmental projects as related to new releases for business process related to SCCM. Create and present change requests for review. Use expert knowledge to lead projects where needed.

  • Monitor the distribution of patching throughout the distribution life cycle as well as research future enhancements to the system for server and endpoints

  • Create and update interdepartmental documentation and document relevant systems to cross-train team members on new projects and supported technologies as well as present to leadership when developing policy and procedure for process

  • Train and mentor technical staff with regards to Windows desktop Operating System (OS) deployments and automated build processes including performance tuning when needed as well as provide a point of escalation and support

  • Perform software distribution remediation on unsuccessful endpoints and servers per account procedures and diagnose SCCM desktop distribution remediation on unsuccessful endpoints per account procedures

  • Use technical expertise in Windows, PowerShell, SCCM, SQL, and WMI as well as other enterprise applications. Identify processes that are currently being done manually and find a way to automate processes. Improve current processes for the betterment of the IT Department as a whole.

  • Other duties as assigned. On Call will be required of this senior level position.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience is required

  • Minimum of 10 years working experience and intimate proficiency with Microsoft System Center administration and troubleshooting in a multi-site environment

  • Minimum of 10 years working experience supporting, maintaining and administering core Microsoft technologies including Windows Server

  • Minimum 10 years of broad IT experience with technical knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and applications

  • Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities

  • ITIL familiarization or certification preferred
