Actalent DSP Engineer in Irving, Texas

Job Title: DSP EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a highly skilled DSP Engineer with a strong foundation in digital signal processing theory and algorithms, particularly in OFDM and DFT-S OFDM systems. This role involves working with wireless communication principles, hardware description languages, and FPGA/RFSoC-specific knowledge. You will also be proficient with Vivado tools and have experience in system design, testing, and verification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement DSP algorithms for wireless communication systems.

  • Work with hardware description languages like VHDL or Verilog for RTL design.

  • Utilize fixed-point arithmetic and optimize timing constraints.

  • Understand and work with Xilinx RFSoC architecture and high-speed ADC/DAC interfaces.

  • Work with AXI interfaces, protocols, and RF data converters.

  • Use Vivado tools for HLS, IP integrator, block design, timing analysis, and constraints implementation.

  • Perform system architecture and partitioning, resource utilization optimization, and power consumption analysis.

  • Develop test benches, system integration testing, RF performance verification, and automated test development.

  • Document and communicate technical details effectively.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Essential Skills

  • Strong foundation in DSP theory and algorithms.

  • Deep understanding of OFDM and DFT-S OFDM systems.

  • Experience with sampling theory, filtering, and FFT implementation.

  • Knowledge of wireless communications principles.

  • Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog and understanding of RTL design principles.

  • Experience with fixed-point arithmetic and timing constraints.

  • Understanding of Xilinx RFSoC architecture and high-speed ADC/DAC interfaces.

  • Knowledge of AXI interfaces, protocols, RF data converters, and DMA.

  • Experience with Vivado tools including HLS, IP integrator, block design, timing analysis, and constraints.

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of FPGA development experience.

  • Experience with wireless communication systems and real-time signal processing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in C/C++ for HLS, MATLAB for algorithm development and verification, Python for automation and testing, and TCL scripting for Vivado automation.

  • Experience in system architecture and partitioning, resource utilization optimization, and power consumption analysis.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Good documentation skills.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.

  • Project management capabilities.

  • Communication skills for technical discussions.

  • Knowledge of 4G/5G standards.

  • Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR).

  • Familiarity with RF system design.

  • Understanding of digital pre-distortion.

  • Experience with Linux-based embedded systems.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00
