CVS Health Director, Business Data Strategy - Payor Solutions in Irving, Texas

Position Summary:

  • This position requires an agile and collaborative leader, who will partner across the organization to address the organization’s complex data challenges.

  • This role requires strong partnership and engagement across all aspects of the business enablement team, as well as coordination with the partners within, and of, the larger Payor Solutions & Life Sciences Organization .

  • The individual must be influence effectively across a wide range of senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate would have extensive experience working across technical and clinical teams to drive results .

  • This individual must feel comfortable working at various technical levels and driving alignment and outcomes across business and technical teams.

    Specific workstreams this individual will be responsible for include:

    Data Strategy for Portfolio of Products

  • Establishing strategy of how we should be using internal and external data for our Payor Solutions services.

  • Coordination across the organization to validate that the data strategy is being executed in production services.

  • Close partnership with reporting and analytics, as well as teams across the organization to d rive alignment conversations to ensure same sources of data are being used for same functions across the Payor Solutions team. Develop artifacts that reflect said standardization.

  • Development of artifacts to establish how PHI/PII encryption should be executed and define and socialize use cases where it’s necessary and/or recommended.

    Data Procurement Stewardship

  • Work with product owners as well as leaders across solutions and innovation, and reporting and analytics, to curate a full list of all data needed to run the various business products and activities.

  • Develop a process to ensure that the list is always current and reflective of all changes.

  • Leveraging the list of data needed to develop and maintain a master DED and associated data dictionary of data being ingested and leveraged for programs.

  • Coordination with front end configuration and mapping team to validate that all data aligns to the DED.

  • When new data is needed for services, partake in solutioning conversations to provide recommendations of how to procure said data in a scalable , reliable, and cost effective manner.

    Data Contract Ownership

  • Single point of contact for all external and internal contacts to understand data agreements and discuss requirements and allowances from a contractual perspective.

  • Point of contact r esponsible for working with third party vendors, as well as legal and privacy, to negotiate and execute standard and custom data contracts , amendments, and renewals.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a process to document terms of all data contracts and store all agreements in a singular location.

  • Developing a process to regularly validate that all contractual obligations are being adhered to .

    Skill In:

  • Experience working with varying levels of contacts, including executive leadership, department leadership, capability enablers and consultants.

  • Demonstrated success in the areas of collaboration, team work , and execution across multiple departments to deliver results. 

  • Strong ability to put together a technical strategy and obtain alignment across various levels of technical resources.

  • Strong documentation abilities – with focus on making artifacts comprehensive while also easy to understand. Additionally, history of process development to ensure documentation is always revisited and up to date.

  • Strong decision-making, analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to develop and execute strategic and tactical business plans

  • Exercise sound business judgment to achieve proper balance between objectives and stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a healthcare leadership role and/or higher education

  • 8+ years leading a team

  • 5+ years leading cross-functional initiatives and driving innovation.

  • 5+ years experience working with payor agnostic products, payers, health product, PBM, or healthcare operations

  • 1+ years - working with a geographically diverse team of primarily Work-from-Home colleagues.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating buy-in and engagement across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Ability to anticipate risks and mitigate effectively.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including active listening, self-management and awareness, emotional intelligence, and ability to flex interpersonal style

    Education Bachelors required/Masters Preferred or Equivalent Experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,500.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
