Job Summary:

The Engineer VI - Engineering Manager applies a thorough knowledge of current engineering principles and practices across various aspects affecting the organization. This role utilizes expertise acquired through progressive experience to address crucial issues and unique conditions . The Engineer VI - Engineering Manager stays informed about new methods and developments , recommending new practices or changes in program emphasis while managing programs of limited complexity and scope .

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead Technical Discipline Team: Manage and guide a technical discipline team within the organization.

• Technical Specialist: Serve as the technical specialist in applying advanced concepts, principles , and methods in an assigned area.

• Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with new developments and requirements , recommending changes in programs or applications.

• Project Coordination: Interpret, organize, execute , and coordinate assignments .

• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Proficiency with electronic communication including e-mail and text , as well as standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite ).

• Possess advanced oral and written communication skills .

• Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.

  Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program .

• 10+ years of prior experience required.

  Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree or equivalent.

• Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues .

  Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:

• Professional Engineer (PE) .

• Member of a professional practice organization , national board member or officer, or national technical or policy committee member .

  Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervise a staff of engineers and designers .

• Plan, schedule , and coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects , or oversee an entire program of the organization.

• Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures .
