Role overview:

Contributes to team within the area of Supply Chain for the duration of the undergraduate internship.Gains understanding of the enterprise and competency of necessary skills within the Supply Chain. Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from colleagues in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.

Develops an understanding of the organization's Supply Chain key practices, policies, and programs.

Job Description

  • Supports, with guidance, on driving optimization in the supply chain for new & existing products through end-to-end product ownership in a cross-functional setting.

  • With guidance, develops and manages Product Strategy Roadmaps, leads cross-functional team meetings and generates meeting minutes.

  • For existing products, with guidance, the employee will lead and facilitate interdisciplinary teams responsible for Supply Chain activities/projects necessary to enable the commercial strategy and continuity of supply for the product portfolio.

  • Works, with guidance, in cross-functional teams (both internal and external) to determine root causes, and develop mitigations and corrective and preventative actions for supply chain-related issues.

  • Exercises judgment, with guidance, within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Evaluates, with guidance, products/processes and collaborates with R&D, NPI, Sourcing, QA, MFG and Finance teams to lead initiatives to improve quality, productivity and reduce costs.

  • Ensures project deliverables are compliant to applicable standards, regulations, and procedures.

  • Continue to support a credo-based culture and decision-making.

  • Support Product Value Stream Management Projects enabling growth, supply chain optimization, & resiliency

Examples of Actions & Milestones:

  • Support PVSM/LCM Monthly Progress Meetings with all involved cross-functional stakeholders to ensure current active projects are staying on-time and do not cause any production issues.

  • Support weekly meetings between Plan, PM,TLCME and Strategic Procurement to review new projects and supplier changes which could potentially impact the Product Value Streams.

  • Drive project management, tracking & execution of PVSM projects to drive implementation as part of the Product Road Map.

  • Support JnJ Credo Activities

  • Opportunities to Engage in local community events and charities, supporting a credo-based culture.

Qualifications

  • Available to work in the US and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., FI, H1-B status)

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or Related Field

  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) with reliable transportation to and from work in Irvine California

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher and be available to work the hours agreed upon with the hiring manager.

  • Strong Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Other MS Office Applications

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
