What Will This Opportunity Do For You?

  • You’ll grow your expertise and analytical skills through collaboration with a global, cross-functional team, ownership of a well-defined project, and exposure to new technology and tools used to improve vehicles and customer experience.

  • As part of this team, you will be responsible for developing product layouts and technology concepts, particularly in the areas of electronics systems. This includes development of early prototypes and new technologies leading into scalable mass production.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (any modeling package).

  • Basic GD&T knowledge and experience releasing 2D drawings.

What Can You Expect To Do?

  • Develop 3D geometry and innovative designs concepts that solve challenging crash load cases while balancing construction, material, and manufacturing methods.

  • Perform and understand tolerance analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other simulations and analyses before releasing designs for production.

  • Develop, study, and implement novel construction techniques and materials then drive them to production feasibility

  • Hands-on prototyping, testing & troubleshooting

What Are We Looking For?

  • Pursuit of a relevant bachelor's degree or master's degree in computer science, Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • A GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills

  • Must be able to work from the Irvine, CA campus.

  • Must be able to dedicate 6 months for this engagement

  • Candidates must graduate and be available for full-time work prior to September 2025

  • Some experience in design, characterization, and validation of consumer electronics, vehicle systems, input devices and/or HMI.

  • Interest in prototyping, full scale mockups and looks like/feels like demonstrations.

Our preferred requirements

  • Experience using 3D CAD software collaboratively

  • Understand of polymers, manufacturing processes and mechanical properties.

  • Experience using CAE software for mechanical analysis
