Western Digital Technologies Sr. Manager Information Security Architecture in Irvine, California

Exciting opportunity for an experienced and talented leader to own Western Digitals Information Security Architecture function.

The foundation of an effective Information Security program is the technical and process solutions that are implemented to securely enable business needs. Creating those solutions, in partnership with IT and other enterprise stakeholders, is at the heart of Western Digitals InfoSec Architecture organization. The world is moving quickly. Business leaders want to take advantage of many emerging, sometimes bleeding edge, technologies and services. None of it can happen without InfoSec.

Unlike many singularly focused IT roles, a Security Architect must have a broad and reasonably deep understanding of all relevant technologies including networking, systems and devices, storage, cloud services, applications, AI / Generative AI, and the sub-components within each. Excellent interpersonal skills are also needed to establish and foster the type of positive relationships that will make others want to engage with InfoSec. And it all starts with the leader of the team.

Along with consultative architectural responsibilities, this team owns network firewall architecture and engineering, including VPN services. Defining a strategy to expand and evolve these technologies and services, plus growing and maturing our cloud services security practice, awaits the person who takes on this critically important role.
