This is an exciting, Irvine-based role within our Corporate Strategy and Development organization reporting to the Director of Corporate Intelligence and Performance. The Manager will have the primary responsibility to develop actionable business intelligence that drives global strategic decisions and advances our long-term strategy. The key internal audience for this role is Edwards’ Executive Leadership, Corporate Strategy team, and our global strategy partners. Specific responsibilities: assessing performance of our key operating drivers, owning our investment strategy for key business enablers, and working on strategic projects for our Executive Team.

How you'll make and impact:

  • Under the guidance of the Sr. Director of Corporate Intelligence and Performance, drive Edwards strategic performance management and business intelligence with connected analytics and insights

  • Support negotiations with business units, regions, and functions to ensure key operating drivers (KODS) are driving execution and incentivizing strong performance

  • Improve KOD tracking and reporting by building strong relationships with our business unit, region, and functional partners

  • Manage the collection and synthesis of business and competitive intelligence through the integration data from both quantitative and qualitative global sources

  • Develop comprehensive external investment strategy and internal governance on strategic business enablers

  • Drive strategy execution and deliver solutions to the business through executive special projects that solve critical business challenges and fortify strategy

  • Execute strategic deep dives that help provide key insights to our Investor Relations Team

  • Leverage insights and market knowledge to enhance connectivity and collaboration between our strategy partners within our business units, regions, and other stakeholders

  • Develop presentations, high-quality data visualizations, and other tools to facilitate timely communication of findings, strategic insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, including executives

  • Work collaboratively with the team to enhance ways of working and provide diversity of thought

  • Other incidental duties

What you'll need (Required):

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in in a scientific, technical, quantitative or Finance (FP&A) with 10 years of experience of related work experience or

Master's Degree or equivalent with 8 years of experience

5 years of direct experience in strategy, management consulting, business development, or marketing and sales required

What else we look for (Preferred):

• Experience in medical device, biotech, or health care

• Proficiency in financial analysis to evaluate analyst reports and models as well as the ability to synthesize complex information into a high-level strategic message, and to interpret internal/external business factors into recommendations and solutions

• Demonstrated experience working with a range of professionals to help navigate through complex situations

• Proven expertise in PowerPoint, Excel, clinical and financial comprehension, strategic frameworks, and live presentations, with high attention to detail and output

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills

• Recognized as an expert in own area with specialized depth and breadth of expertise within area of work in the organization

• Expert understanding and interpretation of complicated market dynamics with the ability to identify and quantify market potential, and build business case with both business and financial analysis skills

• Expert understanding of related aspects of processes and/or systems

• Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate value to the business

• Ability to listen to stakeholders, discover unmet needs, develop strong rapport with audience, and be customer-focused

• Strict attention to detail

• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment

• Ability to represent leadership on projects on sections of projects within a specific area interfacing with project managers and cross-functional teams

• Ability to consult in project setting

• Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $138,000 to $196,000 (highly experienced).
