Eaton Corporation Program Manager in Irvine, California

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Program Manager. This position will be a part of Eaton's Aerospace group, specifically supporting the Irvine California facility. This facility has roughly 200 employees, with output in excess of $100M annually.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105225.03 - $154330.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The Program Manager I leads successful execution of the New Product Development (NPD) Program(s) and projects and their budget allocation. The candidate is responsible for total customer satisfaction and satisfactory financial performance for the development, production, and/or support phases of assigned program(s). This role includes successful management of scope, cost/resources, schedule, risk, subcontract management, and performance management of various assigned program(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manage the Profit and Loss of the NPD projects. Responsibility, Authority and Accountability (RAA) for project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments.

• Execute IPT leadership across the Project(s). Seek team input to promote rapid resolution to issues. Provide feedback on performance indicators.

• Manage effective customer communications. Improve organization responsiveness to customer requirements. Communication and manage customer expectations and contractual commitments internal to the business.

• Maintain metrics for project for earned value (CPI/SPI), quality, technical performance and delivery through all of the PROLaunch phases.

• Coordinates all risks and requirements of the project. This is accomplished by planning, controlling, integrating all project activities and deliverables and measuring all elements to ensure the requirements and goals are successfully achieved.

• Ensure effective change management process is utilized.

• Provide periodic project updates (Program Status Report – Green/Yellow/Red) of current situation relating to contractual milestones and problem/high risk areas (e.g., technical, cost, and schedule).

• Monitor overall performance during all phases of the program(s) and develop and implement corrective action and recovery plans as required..

• Manage organization and leadership of team(s) in a matrix environment.

• Provide overall Project interface with the customer.

• Present Program status to leadership in monthly Program Management Reviews (PMR’s)

Qualifications:

BASIC (Required) QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Program Management or a combination of Program/Project Management with Engineering and/or Product Development Management.

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Irvine, CA will be considered for this position.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen based on the projects that will be worked on

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace), Information Technology, or Business/Management

• Experienced in Aerospace New Product Development (NPD) programs

• Leadership skills - capability to lead change in an Integrated Team (IPT) environment across multiple sites and customers globally.

• Proficient in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes and tools

• Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP) highly preferred

• Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer

• Experience in Risk Management

• Knowledge of contracts

• Knowledge of aerospace industry and Eaton products is preferred

• Knowledge of project finance

• Strong analytical skills and business acumen
