Element Materials Technology Product Safety Test Engineer in Irvine, California
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Product Safety Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.
The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Annual salary: $80-120K
Responsibilities
Support testing of electrical/electronic devices to key National and International safety standards (such as 60601-1, 62368-1, 61010-1, and 60335-1)
Generate technical test reports which will be used as part of CE marking, NRTL, IECEE CB and other regulatory, legislative and certification requirements for electrical devices around the world
Support the development of new capabilities within the Product Safety Department
Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data
Skills / Qualifications
Working knowledge of laboratory quality aspects around ISO 17025
Possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering discipline
Possess a degree or similar within an electrical based background
Previous experience of testing to core standards such as 60601-1, 62368-1, 61010-1 and/or 60335-1
Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s Product Safety business
Can analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed
