Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Irvine, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Irvine, California. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be an integral part of our team, managing payroll operations and related activities to ensure compliance across our US and Canadian subsidiaries. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can efficiently interface with our executives, employees, and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall payroll operations and related activities to ensure multi-state/Province compliance in the US and Canadian subsidiaries

• Assist with maintenance and reconciliation of payroll related GL accounts, month/quarter end close activities, and payroll analysis

• Handle ESOP related payroll processing and reporting for US and Canadian employees

• Manage Compliance with all applicable laws including advising management on needed actions and employee communications

• Provide headcount reporting and assist with budget model

• Ensure proper documentation exists for payroll SOX compliance

• Use various accounting software systems such as ADP, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, and Kronos Timekeeping System

• Perform other related duties as assigned, including managing accounts payable and receivable. Requirements • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems is essential for this role.

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is highly desirable.

• Prior experience with Ceridian will be advantageous.

• Knowledge of IBM AS/400 is required for this position.

• Proficiency in Kronos Timekeeping System will be a plus.

• Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration is expected.

• Familiarity with 'About Time' software is preferred.

• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions is required.

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential.

• The candidate should be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• The candidate should be detail-oriented and have strong problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of payroll regulations and requirements is necessary.

• The candidate should have the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
