JOB SUMMARY: In this customer service role, you'll be at the forefront of our town's administrative engine, handling essential tasks that keep our community running smoothly. From managing vital records to assisting residents with inquiries, your contributions will be instrumental in fostering a welcoming and efficient environment. You'll have the opportunity to engage with diverse members of our community, building meaningful connections and forging lasting relationships. Whether it's helping a family obtain a license for their newly adopted dog, guiding them through a marriage license, or simply being the friendly face that greets them at Town Hall, your role will be instrumental in shaping positive experiences and fostering a sense of belonging for all.

REPRESENTATIVE TASKS: Accepting tax payments, processing marriage and fishing licenses, processing passports, and assisting with phone calls, paperwork, computer related searches and inquiries. You must be comfortable dealing with the public, answering phone calls and assisting the public both in person and on the telephone. General office duties include filing, copying, and faxing. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.

CIVIL SERVICE CLASSIFICATION: Competitive (transfer eligible) or Provisional* (*Provisional means you will participate in the next Civil Service exam for Office Clerk IV and need to be reachable on the certified list once established)

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
