Genesis10 is seeking a Product Owner: III (Senior) for a contract with our client in Inver Grove Heights, MN. 70% Remote. Job Description: This analyst lives within the Product Operations team which in addition owns Product and Development capabilities and tools while partnering closely with our Agile CoE (Scrum Master, Agile Coach) and User Experience CoE. The role of this analyst is focused on ownership of our FinOps practice partnering with our Cloud Platform and Finance team. This role is responsible to set up processes and tools that will ensure visibility and optional actions based on accurate and timely data to the business. Overall, this role requires deep understanding of cloud billing, heavy analysis and navigating the organization from individuals to leaders as well as from technical teams to our business. Detecting trends and being comfortable in communicating are a continual part of this position. Success in these efforts should result in maturing responsibilities of cloud usage, education and advocacy from teams of cloud spend, and the work must be done continually from a positive, business-enhancing stance with finance partnership. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and analyze cloud-related expenses, identifying cost optimization and offset efforts with vendor agreements and/or programs Support the cloud monthly budget process in managing consumption, show back, and savings in collaboration with finance and technical owners Ensure alignment of cloud spending with budget constraints Forecast cloud costs based on current usage, upcoming requirements and new projects Resource Optimization Analyze cloud usage patterns and make recommendations towards utilization improvements to both engineers of the product as well as their technical and business leaders Ability to communicate escalating anomalies and unplanned consumption spikes to leadership and the impacts to current and future spend Identify and implement strategies to adapt resources to demand, optimizing cost and performance Identify underutilized or unused resources and clearly articulate recommendations of appropriate actions Data Analysis Ability to analyze and report data in Apptio and Cloudability for transparency to product and project teams Provide regular insights and recommendations during portfolio reviews of cloud spend health Maintain financial reporting of cloud spend and utilization Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work closely with cross-functional product teams and projects, including IT, DevOps, procurement, security to align cloud usage with business objectives Educate, raise awareness, and skill up the organization about cost optimization best practices across the organization Stay updated on cloud services, pricing models, and industry trends Practice Management Ability to articulate where we are in maturity of FinOps practices in a foundational assessment Define best practices for client around responsibilities and roles from a cost governance perspective Required Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, computer science, or a related field At least 2 years' experience in cloud DevOps, IT cloud Operations, Finance, or cloud cost management. Use of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure Strong data analytics skills that go far beyond just creating spreadsheets, actually analyze data Proven excellent communication and collaboration abilities, including leadership presentations and facilitation Familiarity with applicable regulations as they influence cloud usage Certification in FinOps or relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.) is a plus. This can be agreed to be completed within the first 6 months in the role.
