Summary

We are seeking a visionary Principal IT Business Relationship Manager to join our Information Technology group. As a strategic business partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Transportation function. In this critical position, you will collaborate with functional leaders, drive digital transformation, and ensure alignment between business strategy and technology. Your expertise and influence will be instrumental in optimizing technology investments, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional value to our organization. You will do this by understanding how to drive positive change and impact to the organization through persuasion, influence, connection, and action.
Responsibilities
Strategic Collaboration
Partner closely with functional leaders to support, promote, and execute Transportation strategies, even in areas of ambiguity across multiple product lines.
Lead Transportation on its digital journey, driving process digitization and automation.
Act as an IT trusted advisor and strategic member of the Functional leadership team.
Business Capability Definition
Leverage business architecture principles to define and maintain key business capabilities enabled by technology.
Manage the end-to-end process from business strategy to digital capabilities and technology strategies.
Possess solid knowledge about the industry and the different frameworks of organizational models, how to build a strategy, and evaluate what capabilities are needed.
IT Roadmaps and Investment Profiles
Optimize Transportation’s technology investments to align with business goals and strategy.
Translate business and functional requirements into comprehensive IT roadmaps.
Develop long-term IT investment profiles for Transportation technology solutions.
Foster alignment and buy-in across lines of business and IT product teams.
Innovative IT Solutions
Collaborate with IT and functional leaders to deliver innovative, high-quality IT solutions.
Act as the principal technology advisor, driving the adoption of cutting-edge solutions.
Coordinate IT transformation efforts with Business Readiness and Organizational Change Management teams.
Business Capability Roadmaps and Measuring Value
Discover opportunities by continuously stimulating and shaping demand to increase organizational value.
Work with key stakeholders, portfolio managers, product managers, and enterprise architecture to create multi-year business capability roadmaps.
Ensure these roadmaps drive tangible business value.
Provide a holistic, systems-thinking perspective on measuring, validating, and communicating realized business value to functional leadership.
Relationship Building
Develop a deep understanding of the Transportation function. o Build effective relationships both horizontally and vertically within the organization.
Foster a culture of trusting, authentic, and meaningful relationships throughout the organization.
Liaison and Communication
Act as a liaison between Transportation and IT.
Facilitate communication and understanding of the business model with stakeholders.
Educate functional partners about IT processes, roles, products, policies, and capabilities.
Project Execution and Risk Management
Ensure project, roadmap, and initiative execution progress.
Manage escalations and mitigate risks.
Keep key stakeholders informed about program issues, risks, and major incidents.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or related discipline (or equivalent years of work experience, education, and/or training).
10+ years of IT relationship management experience, demonstrating effective influence and collaboration across a matrixed organization with BU/Functional leaders to include:
Effective leadership of a team of IT and/or business professionals with a successful track record of effectively driving change and innovation
Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and drive results in a matrixed organization often with ambiguous goals
Understand how to drive positive change and impact to the organization through persuasion, influence, connection, and action
Overseeing IT projects or programs, with a focus on defining, tracking, and delivering business value
Managing and translating business requirements into technical solutions
Project, Portfolio, and/or Product Management, including developing balanced scorecards and metrics
Experience developing and executing business technology strategies and roadmaps
Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies, SDLC, and Information Security
Strong understanding of and experience with IT/Business governance

Business Analyst or Continuous Improvement degree or certification
ITIL/Project Management certification

Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM®)
