Cybersecurity Operations . This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US EUCOM located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany. This position is required to stay OCONUS.

More About the Role:

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.

  • Configure and maintain the Splunk SOAR platform, with a focus on the Phantom application, to meet the organization's cybersecurity compliance requirements and objectives.

  • Design, develop, and implement automated response actions, playbooks, and security workflows to streamline incident response processes and ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies, regulations, and standards.

  • Utilize orchestration capabilities to ensure that endpoints are maintained at the security posture required by the command policy, proactively identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities and threats.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to understand compliance requirements and translate them into effective automation solutions.

  • Support the DoD Comply to Connect initiative by implementing automation solutions to enhance network visibility, enforce security policies, and improve compliance with cybersecurity standards.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot the Splunk SOAR platform to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability in supporting cybersecurity compliance efforts.

  • Provide technical expertise and support for integrating Splunk SOAR with other security tools and systems within the organization's environment to enhance compliance monitoring and enforcement capabilities.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and advancements in Splunk SOAR and related technologies relevant to cybersecurity compliance and the DoD Comply to Connect initiative.

You Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • Extensive experience (3+ years) in administering and configuring Splunk's Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platform, particularly with the Phantom application.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, compliance frameworks such as Risk Management Framework (DoDI 8500.01) and DoD cybersecurity initiatives such as Comply to Connect.

  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell for creating custom automation scripts and playbooks.

  • Experience with integrating Splunk SOAR with various security tools and systems, such as SIEMs, firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, and threat intelligence platforms.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on cybersecurity compliance initiatives.

  • Security certifications such as Splunk Certified Admin (SCA), Splunk Certified Power User (SCPU), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are a plus.

  • Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and qualify for a TS/SCI clearance.

  • DoD 8570 IAM III and IAT II Baseline Certification

  • Knowledge of DoD IT RMF, USCYBERCOM, and JFHQ-DoDIN

  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Widows Server 2019/2022

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) SQL 2016 Database Admin

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SCCM and/or other automatic reporting tools

  • Proficiency with Carbon Black Application Control

  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.

  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards

  • Experience with DoD IT security requirements.

  • Experience managing asset accuracy to Critical Success Factors (CSF)

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$63,300 - 129,700 USD
