Carmeuse Americas Maintenance Supervisor in INGERSOLL, Ontario

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals

  • Interface with MOL and other governing health and safety agencies at local and federal level as required

  • Follow up investigations working with Safety Committee, and others as needed or applicable

  • Participate in the daily morning production meeting

  • Preparation and implementation of training plans to provide employees with the necessary training to perform their job safely and effectively

  • Ensure the Management System is effective and well understood by all employees

  • Actively participate in the weekly scheduling meeting between maintenance and production

  • A good understanding of the maintenance modules under the CMMS system (SAP 5.0 or Infor/Hexagon EAM)

  • Ensures correct, accurate, and timely reporting of information on all maintenance Work Orders, including “Urgent Repairs”

  • Aid in the development on the maintenance plan and oversee the execution of the daily maintenance plan

  • Oversee necessary arrangements to keep plant running during breakdowns

  • Routinely monitor key performance indicators identifying opportunities for improvement and making appropriate supervisory and management personnel aware of the findings

  • Provide feedback to the maintenance team on goals and expectations

  • Responsible for discretionary spending budget

  • Leads the Maintenance program to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs

Qualifications

  • Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) with related Red Seal Certification OR Engineering degree with relevant supervisory experience in an industrial setting.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of direct supervisory experience in construction, manufacturing and/or industrial settings related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc.

  • Demonstrated competency in preventative and predictive maintenance, and computerized maintenance management systems

  • Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills

  • Demonstrable team work and maturity with a strong work ethic

  • Fluency in spoken and written English
