Boehringer Ingelheim Lead Public Affairs for Animal Health in Ingelheim, Germany

The Position

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your exciting new role, you will strengthen, complement and professionalize Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health's political work. You will be the bridge between internal and external stakeholders, crafting and executing strategies that resonate with both.

  • As a key player in our Public & Government Affairs team, you will take the reins of policy-related work for the animal health business. You will be the go-to person for critical political topics and relationships, both within and outside the company.

  • You will be a driving force behind a matrixed global team of Public Affairs professionals, ensuring a thorough, unified, successful, and locally tailored approach to political work. This includes strategizing and executing plans to anticipate and tackle specific political tasks and opportunities.

  • One of your primary responsibilities will be to develop company positions and political action plans for key political topics relevant to Animal Health.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in political sciences, law, sustainability, environmental management or comparable with long-term experience in political work in industry, government, associations, NGOs or comparable entities

  • Deep and broad understanding of policy issues affecting the animal health as well as the life sciences industry in general

  • Genuine creativity in finding and building innovative, convincing and viable solutions where others see problems

  • Expertise and proven track record of successfully navigating within complex multi-stakeholder political environments towards specific tangible outcomes such as government decisions

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with proven ability to lead others in a matrixed environment without reliance on reporting lines

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a pragmatic can-do mindset

  • Solid understanding as well as passion for the importance of political work as a key success factor for global industry players

  • Outstanding communication skills in English - written and spoken
