Boehringer Ingelheim Head of Employee Engagement in Ingelheim, Germany

The Position

Are you an experienced communication strategist and know what makes an engaging communication concept? Plus, you are familiar with employee listening, such as User Experience (UX) methods? Then the Head of Employee Engagement within HR is of interest for you!

Tasks & responsibilities

  • One of your key responsibilities will be driving engagement (and sense of belonging) of internal Boehringer Ingelheim audiences on HR topics across channels and formats through a holistic, consistent communications strategy and selected employee listening and engagement activities.

  • You will lead communications in global HR projects with high priority and execute actions to strengthen the company’s capability to enhance communications between employees, people leaders, and HR.

  • You will provide strategic communications consultation, positioning and writing for HR senior management to increase awareness and engagement on strategic HR initiatives with company-wide impact.

  • Together with your team, you will develop multi-channel content for internal channels in high impact ways to familiarize employees with Boehringer Ingelheim’s people strategy, policies, and projects in line with the company brand and employer value proposition, i.e., our People Promise.

  • In addition, you will educate and enable global HR community to apply Communications and UX standards as part of their global HR solutions and projects.

  • Furthermore, you will foster HR knowledge transfer through the enhancement of existing channels and knowledge platforms within HR as well as internally for Boehringer Ingelheim colleagues worldwide (e.g., HR Hub).

  • Employee listening is crucial for the success of communication. In addition to driving strategic HR topics with your communication expertise, you will also develop and conduct structured feedback and listening processes on HR products through e.g., qualitative and quantitative surveys and UX research methods.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MA) in Communication, Public Relations, Digital Media, Business Administration, or similar education

  • Profound communication expertise within a large corporate environment and the ability to handle multiple communication projects to suit different audiences and objectives

  • Proven experience in (senior) stakeholder relationship management

  • Profound experience in management of external partnerships/agencies

  • Highly motivated with strong organizational and analytical skills paired with strategic and long-term thinking

  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and persuasion skills and intercultural mindset

  • Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills in English and preferably also German
