Tasks & responsibilities

  • As Asset Lead within our Therapeutic Area Oncology, you drive asset development from Proof of Clinical Principle (PoCP) to launch and commercialization, maximizing the asset value and accelerating asset launches. You are the main driver of strategic decisions and the integrator of complex cross-functional deliverables.

  • With your expertise, you lead a cross–functional team of leaders to create and execute on a comprehensive, ambitious, and deliverable Asset Development Strategy in alignment with Asset priorities and the overall TA portfolio, disease areas and commercial strategies. In addition, you drive key financial, scientific, commercial, and other strategic decisions; endorse and integrate line function strategies into a consolidated Asset strategy.

  • Moreover, you are accountable for asset Target Product Profiles (TPP) and value proposition; in cooperation with a broader group of internal and external stakeholders, you create scientific and commercial value of the asset, ensuring it can address clinical unmet need and improve current standard of care.

  • You are the single point of accountability for the seamless execution of program deliverables and decisions for each asset ensuring the programs are managed in a cost-effective manner and with appropriate resources.

  • Furthermore, you implement risk mitigation plans and identify new opportunities for an Asset.

  • Finally, you act as point of contact and lead voice of the Asset Team externally and internally, to cross-functional governance and other decision-making bodies.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Medical or Life Science, MD, PhD or MBA or equivalent experience

  • Long term relevant experience in drug development industry (all phases of drug development and commercialization) with track record of increasing responsibility; usually clinical or commercial background with strong strategic skills and strong business acumen

  • Several years of experience in end-to-end leadership of a cross-functional team to deliver successful clinical development program or commercialization or a complex development project with substantial budget.

  • Global market-relevant experience, including external stakeholder engagement in the therapeutic area. Track record of successful launches is a key advantage.

  • Experience in developing business plans, successfully managing budgets and timelines, implementing key decisions to prioritize timelines, budget, and resources to support a long-term success of a project.

  • Visionary leader with an entrepreneurial mind-set and passion to build a strong team and team culture of high performance, create opportunities, solve problems, and successfully drive complex projects.

  • Able to engage with Senior Executives across the organization to prioritize funding, align and validate decisions and support programs.
