Description
We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our healthcare client located in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a Sr. Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial records and general ledger for the organization, with tasks extending to the month-end close process, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, and more.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the maintenance of financial records and the general ledger for the hospital and its subsidiary
• Prepare and execute the month-end close process, including the preparation of general and standard journal entries
• Conduct account reconciliations for assigned companies on a recurring basis
• Maintain and update the hospital's Cost Accounting system
• Assist in the annual budget preparation for various entities of the organization under the guidance of the Accounting leadership
• Compile and assist with the preparation of monthly budget variance reports
• Coordinate the compilation of the annual and monthly budget by liaising with interdepartmental contacts within the organization
• Provide support to independent auditors during interim and year-end audit and Medicare Cost Report for the hospital
• Train and guide assigned staff, including Staff Accountants and Accounts Payable, on policies and procedures
• Maintain updated knowledge of all governmental regulations and practices (GAAP) affecting accrual-based hospital finance and accounting procedures
• Actively participate in annual, quarterly, and cyclical financial requirements and processes, such as property taxes, distributions, K-1 reconciliations, audits/reviews, and property tax return preparation.client
Requirements
• Must possess comprehensive knowledge and experience in Account Reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required.
• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations is essential.
• Should have extensive experience in managing General Ledger.
• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries is a must.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting is required.
• Experience in Month End Close procedures is necessary.
