Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant within the retail industry, specifically clothes and accessories, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role involves being part of our team and managing various accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the balance sheets and ensuring their accuracy

• Managing accruals and ensuring they align with financial regulations

• Conducting audits to evaluate the financial status of the company

• Adherence to US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards

• Ensuring company's compliance with financial regulations

• Providing technical accounting support and guidance across the team

• Conducting account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation

• Managing bank reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies

• Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring all entries are accurate

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and data analysis

• Managing month end close processes efficiently

• Utilizing Oracle for various accounting tasks

• Ensuring compliance with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the retail industry.

• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Strong understanding of general ledger and journal entries.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Experience in month-end close procedures.

• Knowledge of Oracle financial software is desirable.

• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance is required.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.

• Professional certification such as CPA is considered a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

• Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information professionally.

• Experience in the retail industry, especially clothes and accessories, is highly desirable.
