Job Summary

As the Sous Chef, you will oversee the daily operations of a medium-sized dining hall within a higher education setting. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, your role is crucial in maintaining efficient culinary operations. You will assist with kitchen management, food preparation, and menu development.

Responsibilities:

• Manage kitchen operations and budget alongside the Executive Chef.

• Assist in planning and executing menus.

• Oversee catering events.

• Implement culinary programs with the marketing and culinary team.

Qualifications:

• Culinary Arts degree or equivalent experience preferred.

• Experience in high-volume food service and kitchen management.

• Familiarity with batch cooking and institutional operations.

• Strong knowledge of food trends, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet use.

• Participation in client satisfaction activities.

• ServSafe certification is a plus.
