Piezo Technologies Shipping and Receiving Clerk in Indianapolis, Indiana

POSITION SUMMARY

Processes incoming and outgoing shipments. Accurately prepares, picks, packs, labels and ships customer order materials.Operates standard manual and automatic equipment. Receives and unpacks materials and supplies. Checks receipts against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defects. Expedites material to proper department or storage location.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, unpack and issue materials to stockroom, warehouse or designated location
  • Sort, count and check received items
  • Check goods received against bills of lading, purchase orders, etc.
  • Place materials, supplies and other received goods on shelves, racks or floor locations
  • Plan, prepare and pack product for shipment using standard boxes, crates or skids for shipments
  • Select materials to properly pack and protect product, including bracing or blocking movement of product to prevent shifting or damage while in transit
  • Route all outgoing shipments through various means of transportation following standard procedures
  • Track and file all purchasing related documentation
  • Input all changes into the purchasing system, including inventory purchase orders, price changes and system updates through Purchase Order Receipt Process.
  • Coordinate KANBAN purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels
  • Maintain shipment files and reports figures as needed
  • Follows all safety procedures including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work additional hours as necessary (nights and weekends) to ensure on time delivery
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Background

  • Minimum (2) years of relevant experience shipping and receiving experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience working with ERP systems, Made-2-Manage ERP System preferred
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be U.S. persons or protected individual within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person and protected individuals as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), U.S. Temporary Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee

Skills

  • Basic computer knowledge. (Word, Excel, Outlook email, ERP system transactions, shipping software)
  • Manage time and prioritize responsibilities
  • Able to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing and verbal skills)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Must be highly motivated, self-starter and work as a team player
  • Must have high levels of attention to detail and quality, be able to multitask and stay organized
  • Must demonstrate the ability to act professionally
  • Must be able to occasionally move about in production areas as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

ENVIRONMENTAL and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each workday doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible expos re to dust and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
