BUNZL Sales Representative- Processor: Indianapolis, IN in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description

As a Sales Representative for Bunzl Distribution, you will be accountable for meeting and exceeding sales targets within our Processor segment in this Northeast US territory. You will drive sales through both account management and new business development. Your product mix will include a variety of disposable products including paper products, packaging, janitorial supplies, safety, sanitation, and personal protection equipment. As part of our Processor segment, your customer base could include bakeries, dairies & produce enterprises.

In addition to serving as a business development partner, you will build customer relationships, handle customer complaints and inquiries, manage Accounts Receivables, and effectively communicate with all appropriate internal departments and support personnel. As a Sales Representative for Bunzl, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment where attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, initiative and drive are integral to achieving personal, professional and company goals.

This territory covers the Northern Half of Indiana and encroaching into Western Ohio (Toledo & Cincinnati). Based on business concentration, the ideal candidate would live in Indianapolis; but candidates living within the listed geography will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Increase sales through greater penetration within existing accounts, while prospecting and building business with new accounts;

  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales and margin KPIs;

  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build relationships and ensure customer satisfaction and actively cultivate key customer relationships and realize future sales growth potential;

  • Promote new products within existing customer base and drive sales of Bunzl internal and preferred brands where appropriate;

  • Implement and manage pricing strategies within all accounts;

  • Complete weekly planning and scheduling of customer visits, with a strong understanding of objectives for each visit;

  • Present monthly recaps of targeted sales priorities to sales leadership;

  • Develop a strong understanding of Bunzl products, with the ability to demonstrate features and benefits by using product samples and/or catalog specifications;

  • Establish and grow new accounts;

  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecast to the operational and leadership team to ensure inventory levels are accurate;

  • Evaluate pricing quarterly to maintain and protect margins;

  • Participate in Industry Association Functions such as Trade Shows and other events;

  • Work with outside vendors on new materials and new innovative packaging solutions with regards to packaging.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree - preferred

  • Must have 2+ years of inside/outside sales experience

  • Practical sales experience in at least one of the following markets: food/meat processing, industrial processing, plant operating supplies, personal protection equipment or related safety items. Or previous experience selling in a paper, packaging, janitorial/sanitation or food service distribution industry preferred

  • Ability to effectively plan weekly and daily sales and operations activity, directed towards targeted sales opportunities with the account manager

  • User level proficiency in Windows operating environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Work effectively in situations that involve change and/or competing demands

  • Proficient handling of all confidential and time-sensitive material

  • High level of Personal Accountability

  • Ability to Identify and Prioritize Key Initiatives
