Piezo Technologies Manufacturing Quality Engineer in Indianapolis, Indiana

This position requires a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining standards of quality and accuracy. Also supports the quality functions by interfacing with suppliers, performing supplier audits, supporting manufacturing quality, and responding to customer quality concerns.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Supports, monitors and maintains quality control system Specializes in technical problem solving and resourcefulness while working within approved organizational systems and technology Establishes quality requirements and flows these requirements to suppliers Works with suppliers to address quality concerns and supplier quality improvement initiatives Works with manufacturing to address internal quality concerns Identifies critical points in the manufacturing process and defines sampling procedure Determines types of tests to be performed as well as documentation and reporting requirements Prepares and conducts various quality audits, including supplier, customer and internal Manages the relationship with the Metrology vendor and maintains records of calibration Addresses customer quality concerns by directing CAPA processes and failure analysis on returned hardware Interacts regularly with engineering, manufacturing and service functions to establish quality standards for raw material, work in process and finished products Collects and compiles plant quality performance and training data Records and reports efforts to eliminate internal and external failures Supports and leads improvement efforts through data collection, trend analysis, and root cause analysis Helps to support the Document Control process Assists in the creation and updating of written documents and policies according to established procedure and ISO 13485 and 9001 as direct by the Quality Control Manager Supports Operations and Quality training programs Support LEAN industrialization Assists in tracking and reporting quality and business metrics Assists in providing various Quality functions such as special testing Wear proper personal protective equipment as necessary including but not limited to: eye and hearing protection, safety shoes, lab coats, gloves, dust masks and respirators Willing to learn new duties and technology-related skills as required May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary to ensure customer commitments are met and delivered timely. Experience/Background: 4+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance environment required Experience and understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and/or ISO 13485:2016 Experience in the use of inspection and testing of mechanical and electronic instruments Strong background in statistical methods, GRandR, capability analysis, and Six Sigma Problem Solving techniques This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S. person or protected individual within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines U.S. persons and protected individuals as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), U.S. Temporary Resident, Political Asylee or Refugee. Skills: Proficiency with CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, PPAP, FAI, APQP, FMEA Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and web-browser Ability to learn production processes and machine operations through on-the-job training Problem solving skills and the ability to train teams to resolve various issues using available tools Ability to manage time and prioritize responsibilities Able to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion Must be highly motivated, self-starter and work as a team player Must have hi h levels of attention to detail and quality, be able to multitask and stay organized Must demonstrate the ability to act professionally Must be able to occasionally move about in production areas as needed Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or manufacturing related field (or) equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations Special requirements, skills, licenses, certificates or certifications preferred: ASQ Certification, Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing and 5S, Microsoft Project
