CNC Machinist Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will utilize lifting devices such as overhead cranes to move large parts, handle material, and operate a variety of CNC Machines including Horizontal and Vertical Mills. You will be responsible for operating various machines in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and load a variety of CNC Machines including Horizontal and Vertical Mills.

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and quality tools.

• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.

• Understand and utilize controls to regulate machining or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

• Use lifting devices to move large parts safely.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating CNC Machines.

• Ability to understand Start, Stop, and Recovering program language.

• Ability to understand written standard work instructions and blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with machine tool brands such as EDMG MORI, Giddings & Lewis, Giddings & the person, Junker Grinder systems, Waldrich-Coburg, Burkhardt+Weber, SW Twin Spindle machines, and Stama Twin Spindle machines.

• Familiarity with controllers like Fanuc, Siemens, and proprietary systems (such as the person grinders).

• Experience with ABB or Fanuc Robots.

• Experience using chains and straps to safely move parts.

• Experience working with larger parts that required the use of overhead cranes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.71 - $28.68/hr.
