Make a Difference

The Lead Patient Access Representative will help coordinate all aspects of Patient Access in a manner that ensures a customer-focused quality conscious work climate. The primary function of this position is to assess the departments’ and individual team members’ needs for educational opportunities. It is the responsibility of the Lead to onboard new hires, develop training materials, provide statistical data to leadership, complete team member audits and provide coverage in patient access areas. The Lead will serve as a liaison for team members and supervisors through daily actions by serving as the first point of contact for team members for process and procedural concerns. This position requires participation in on-call rotation within the department.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare/medical office environment.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including email, face-to-face patient and co-worker interactions as well as professional phone skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • General knowledge of patient accounts.

  • Knowledge of registration requirements.

  • Working knowledge of billing/insurance requirements.

  • Knowledge of insurance requirements including: pre-certification, insurance verification, pre-registration and scheduling.

  • Ability to interact well with all types of customers.

  • Ability to develop and implement new processes.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
