About the role

This is a High Voltage level position for electrical maintenance. The electrician operating at a professional level will perform supervised preventative maintenance and emergency repair of electrical equipment. Responsible for electrical equipment maintenance, calibration and testing. This work includes electrical / electronic, mechanical, and machine servicing.

What you’ll do

  • Operation, calibration, maintenance and repair of site 4KV power distribution system, transformers, load centers, motors, motor starters and variable speed drives.

  • Maintenance, fixing, and repair of 600V motor control centers, panels, lighting, conduits, wiring, variable speed drives (VFD) and AC motors.

  • Uses electrical test equipment, gauges and other measuring devices to test electrical equipment.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of calibration results, inspections, and repairs

  • Planned maintenance and emergency repairs outside of normal work schedule

  • Maintain documentation using a CMMS system.

  • Plans, selects, and lays out required materials for service and repair work.

  • Works from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions and operates a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.

  • Installation of some electrical conduit and devices. General electrical duties including lamp and ballast maintenance.

  • Requisitions new supplies and equipment.

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  • Aligns with all company policies and procedures and adhere to all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

  • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

  • Operates company vehicle in a safe manner and follows prescribed routines to service locations in a timely manner.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum two or more years in electrical theory and electrical maintenance at a vocational school or industry-backed school or a minimum five years’ experience performing electrical system repair. Experience with Power Distribution systems, variable speed drives, motor control center and starters, and proper use of related electrical text equipment.

  • Willing to learn and take on more skilled work.

  • Knowledge of current NEC (70E) requirements, including arc flash and PPE

  • Requires knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs.

  • Capable of carrying out maintenance tasks to the highest standard, like climbing ladders and handling objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to operate and work from man-lifts using appropriate fall protection equipment up to a height of 30 feet.

  • Availability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.

  • May be required to possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to clearly connect with other crew members, customer staff and outside contractors regarding work, safety, and procedures.
