Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing facilities maintenance to a portfolio of Medical Office Buildings in the Indianapolis area. This position entails maintenance of HVAC systems, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, and performing monthly preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
Perform base building general maintenance tasks such as replacement and/or repair of ceiling tiles and grid, door hardware, restroom fixtures, lighting, and general repairs to building finishes.
Conduct minor electrical repairs to receptacles and plumbing knowledge of water heaters, urinals, toilets, and auto faucets.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, repair/replacement of facility lighting, ballast, switches, and receptacles.
Perform weekly and monthly generator load transfers.
Understand fire alarm systems and notification systems.
Perform fire system impairment for testing and construction purposes.
Basic understanding of water treatment and the reason for it.
Have basic knowledge of wet sprinkler systems and associated devices.
Respond to comfort calls and troubleshoot, adjust, and repair base building HVAC equipment.
Make adjustments and changes to the building management systems for facility comfort and utility savings.
Perform preventive maintenance on building equipment and coordinate out-sourced preventive maintenance with vendors.
Order materials and contractor services per contract and purchase order procedures.
Properly use basic hand tools and multimeters for troubleshooting building equipment and systems.
Maintain an organized and clean facility, including shops, storage rooms, vacant spaces, and mechanical areas.
Essential Skills
3+ years maintenance experience (7+ years preferred).
Health care and Surgery Center experience preferred.
Ability to use basic Microsoft Office and smart phone technology.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Basic plumbing skills (e.g., water heater knowledge, hands-free faucets, and flush valves).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in Plumbing, Electrical, Troubleshooting, HVAC, Mechanical, Painting, Drywall, Facilities, Carpentry, Cleaning, Building maintenance, Facilities maintenance, Lighting.
3+ years of experience as a Commercial Facilities Technician.
Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Drywall, Painting, etc.
Knowledge in Schematic, Preventive maintenance, Facility maintenance, Facility, Blueprint, PLC troubleshooting, Boiler, hospital facility, healthcare industry.
Any Surgery Center Experience or Medical Building experience is preferred.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
