GCG Automation & Factory Solutions (AFS) is currently seeking a technically skilled, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Control Sales Technical Specialist to join our Application Engineering team!

In this role, you will be a key resource for our customers, providing pre- and post-sale technical and application support for motor control, circuit protection, and power distribution products . You'll work closely with our sales team to support industrial, OEM, and end-user customers, ensuring best-in-class support and positioning AFS as a valued and trusted partner in industrial automation.

Upon completion of training, this role offers a hybrid work arrangement with the potential to work from home when not visiting customer sites. To allow for ease of travel to customer sites, the preferred location for this individual in this role would be the Cincinnati / Dayton, OH area.

What you’ll do

• Present and demonstrate electrical components to prospective customers

• Provide technical support and product knowledge to sales force and customers

• Collaborate on pricing negotiations and sales closures

• Prepare proposals using vendor software for power distribution and motor control products

• Lead training classes on motor control and related electrical products

• Manage customer accounts and track sales opportunities using CRM software

• Travel approximately 30% of the time

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Engineering (preferably Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology)

• 5+ years of industry experience working with electrical distributors, engineers, purchasing departments, and industrial clients

• Proven track record of success in applications / sales within the electrical components industry

• Knowledge of electrical products including circuit breakers, AC controls, safety switches, panel boards, and motor control centers

• Proficiency in math, algebra, and computer skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and goal-oriented mindset

• Valid drivers license and clean driving record
