Job Title: CMT TechnicianJob Description

This individual will be in the field doing construction material testing in the Indianapolis and surrounding area. The material they will be testing will primarily be concrete and occasionally soil (compaction and soil sampling). A typical day will involve reporting directly to the job site/project. The individual will interact with the General Contractor (GC) and subcontractors.

Concrete Testing:

The contractor will take concrete samples randomly from the concrete truck, put the samples in a cylinder, perform onsite testing (training provided), and label them for later testing at the lab.

Compaction:

The contractor will use a nuclear density machine (training provided) to test the compaction percentage of the soil. The individual must be aware of the project specifications and the required compaction percentage. Specifications are construction guidelines that must be followed per project.

Documentation:

There will be documentation required in the field that they will input into a laptop issued to them. The document will be an Excel file, so light computer skills are needed.

Hard Skills

• 1-2+ years experience in the construction industry as a CMT

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Work Environment

This will be a construction environment with the likelihood of getting dirty. The work will be performed outside and exposed to weather elements. Experienced inspectors will understand the climate constraints in Indiana. Dress attire: Steel toe boots, jeans (no holes), and shirts with sleeves.
