About the Job:
The Hoosier Lottery Claims Representative will assist customers with the claims process of Hoosier Lottery prizes. This includes vetting all information submitted for claims processing, answering questions related to Hoosier Lottery products and other duties as needed. Individual will work 37.5 hours per week at the Headquarters location.
A Day in the Life:
Greet customers upon arrival in the Prize Payment Center;
Process walk-in and mail-in claims daily;
Ensure all proper documentation is presented prior to claim processing;
Research validity of information provided by claimant on Winner Claim Forms;
Troubleshoot problem tickets presented in office by working with other departments and retailers to resolve issues if possible;
Ensure all unresolved problem tickets are logged, activity reports created and forwarded to the Security Department;
Compose correspondence, log and send to all winners that present tickets that cannot be paid;
Review and verify all information entered on the Manual Check Log which is submitted to the Accounting Department weekly;
Assist with 2nd Chance winner notification process;
Verify the validity and process 2nd chance winner claims when presented;
Sell lottery products daily including scratch and draw game products;
Maintain adequate ticket inventory levels for sales;
Assist with nightly closing process to balance out cash, debit card receipts, ticket inventory, check inventory, etc.
What You'll Need for Success:
High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred ;
Bilingual applicants preferred;
Excellent customer service skills;
Ability to thrive in a team environment;
Ability to operate multi-line telephone and cash register;
Understanding of clerical procedures, methods, and principles;
Proficient in office software, including MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Excel and MS Word;
Proficient with modern office equipment including computer, multifunctional copier/printer, and scanners
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $25,766.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
