Winland Foods Broker Management and Sales Operations Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Manager, Broker Management & Sales Operations is the main point of contact for broker relationships managing contracts and overall execution of broker strategy, budget, scorecards and incentive plans. Additionally, this individual supports the Winland enterprise by developing and governing customer communications, organizational business processes and certain tools that support the Winland Sales Team. The position will also support cross functional projects through scheduling and coordination support, decision-making and certain elements of training to ensure key projects are managed effectively.

The Manager, Broker Management & Sales Operations will have the knowledge of how brokers work with and represent CPG companies, and possess a well-developed understanding of the innerworkings of Sales, cross-functional partners and key stakeholders. Project management, process development and execution and communication skills are a must.

Work Location: Remote with 20% travel

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $93k - $158k annually with additional bonus potential

Broker Management Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing broker strategy and aligning with Winland cross functional teams on goals, processes and communication with the Winland broker network.

  • Prepares and reviews broker contracts and/or amendments, appointment and/or termination letters, and other key communications needed to support our broker partners.

  • Interfaces with Winland sales teams to ensure thorough understanding and implementation of business priorities​.

  • In partnership with sales leads, reinforces broker business priorities for customer execution.

  • Collaborates with Sales leadership to develop broker scorecards to track progress on specific Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), customer plans and initiatives.

  • Reviews scorecard performance with sales team and broker key contact(s) on a regular cadence (monthly or quarterly).

  • Partners with Financial Shared Services to ensure accuracy of broker commission data including rates, rate structure, terms & conditions, incentives, etc.​

Sales Operations Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Governs and optimizes sales tools, systems and process. Provides and manages system access and trains new users. Troubleshoots issues and partners with IT when necessary to resolve.

  • Governs SAP Sales Hierarchy change management process. Partners with our Master Data team to ensure change process is being followed and data is updated and published timely and accurately.

  • Provides support to the Director, Sales Operations in key business integration activities (scheduling, communications, and cross functional coordination).

  • Represents the Commercial team by participating as necessary in cross-functional initiatives.

  • Develops, publishes and manages execution of customer communications.

  • Partners with IT and key stakeholders to lead new Commercial tool developments.

  • Develops detailed decks and executive summaries to present and gain approval for Commercial Ops initiatives. Tailors communications to engage specific audiences.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field required

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in sales, broker management and/or CPG required

  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills required

  • Understanding of Private Label Selling and Commercialization strongly preferred

  • Fluency in PowerBI, SAP, SharePoint, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) preferred

  • Effective management of projects, and development and execution of processes required

  • Strong management skills with demonstrated problem solving ability, and skilled at multi-tasking and prioritization of work

  • Demonstration of creative problem solving and resourcefulness is required

  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage a budget and build reporting

  • Basic understanding of pricing, trade promotions and the impact of pricing on volume required

  • Strong process improvement mindset with the ability to see through complex issues and simplify ways of working

  • Ability to take gathered information, synthesize it and make recommendations on how to move forward

  • Demonstrates agility, adaptability and openness to take on projects with confidence and a can-do attitude

  • Demonstration of taking initiative and ability to build trust and relationships internally and externally to the organization
