Job Summary:

The bookkeeper is a self-starter, who is highly organized, process-driven, detail- and results-oriented. The pillars of the business office are Control, Service, Continuous Improvement, and End-to-End Collaboration. This position will be responsible for all clerical accounting work, while being the customer service window to both internal staff and third-party inquiries, triaging work within the business office. Given the small size of the business office, the bookkeeper needs to be flexible, open to performing back-up tasks and train others to be their back-up.

Job Responsibilities:

· Execute all Accounts Payable clerical work, including managing the purchase order and invoice workflow, coding, and processing. Review credit card transactions and expense reports for policy and accounting compliance.

· Execute all Accounts Receivable clerical work, including invoicing and collections.

· Be the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries into the business office, addressing a broad range of clerical tasks independently, while effectively escalating non-clerical issues appropriately.

· Maintain complete and detailed electronic files, with supporting back up documentation for all transactions.

· Assist with monthly reconciliation and account review.

· Participate in period closing process in a timely manner; assist in research of outstanding items; assist with regulatory reporting.

· Maintain internal controls, assisting with documentation as required.

· Assist with audit preparation and engagement.

· Assist with other projects as identified.

Additional Education/Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

● Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting, Finance, and/or Business) preferred

● Five years of experience bookkeeping, preferably non-profit

● Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online, and integrated software

● Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred

● Sense of community and willingness to serve others

● Exceptional communication skills; high emotional intelligence

● Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
