Lilly Associate Director - Corporate Financial Reporting in Indianapolis, Indiana

Our Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) team is looking for an experienced accountant who will serve as a key contributor, supporting multiple initiatives of our corporate accounting and external financial reporting processes. This position is a collaborative role interacting with CFR leadership and various functions at Lilly.

Key Objectives:

Preparing and reviewing portions of our annual Form 10-K and quarterly Form 10-Q reports, assisting with technical accounting support, providing creative solutions, and resolving accounting issues within the business. Responsibilities include:

  • SEC Reporting: Prepare and review portions of the annual report and quarterly filings, as well as other financial materials that support the quarterly financial reporting cycle.

  • Technical Accounting: Assist in providing technical accounting research, including evaluation of proposed changes to FASB pronouncements or SEC rules, as well as implementation of new accounting standards.

  • Other Accounting: Support our Compensation & Benefits accounting team, Financial Controls Organization team, and other corporate closing activities as needed. Assist in providing accounting support for our business development activities, including identifying and resolving complex accounting issues.

  • Special Projects: Lead or assist with other special project work as identified.

Do you have a deep, solid technical accounting background with extensive knowledge of current US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements? Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • CPA or Chartered Accountant or CPA eligible

  • Minimum 6 years or applicable work experience

  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization and/or visas for this role.

Additional Preferences:

  • 4+ years in public accounting or SEC reporting

  • SAP experience

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Leadership and teamwork abilities

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity/innovative

  • Business partnering skills with a willingness to challenge when necessary

  • Experience with large, multi-national corporations

  • Passion for ongoing improvement

  • High learning agility

Other Information:

  • Position will be located in Indianapolis and may require some flexibility due to business partners being located in different time zones. Some work outside of core hours is expected based upon business needs and issues that may arise, especially during quarter and year-end closes.

  • Minimal travel required.
