Job Description:
Analytics Engineers use industry leading analytics, data, and software engineering best practices to deliver on Intermountain Health's mission to 'Help people live the healthiest lives possible', making healthcare more affordable and higher quality, and making a difference in the patients and communities we serve. Analytics Engineers deliver scalable analytic solutions across the organization, support executive leadership decision making, and lead initiatives that increase the capabilities of caregivers, tools, and processes.
Job Essentials
A Staff level Analytics Engineer develops innovative solutions at scale using a combination of analytics, data and software engineering skills that drive significant value. This includes proficiently applying software engineering best practices and skills to analytic processes and solutions; proficiently utilizing data engineering principles including query development, data modeling and data pipeline/orchestration techniques; and employing advanced BI and visualization techniques while delivering a simple and intuitive user experience. This individual also Improves processes and solutions through advanced technical and automated methods and quickly learns and appropriately applies cutting edge advanced methodologies and tools in creative and novel ways to further analytics. They evaluate technical gaps/opportunities and drives successful implementation of new tools/technologies and extend the capabilities of existing tools/technologies in new and innovative ways to enhance analytics solutions.
Minimum Qualifications (REQUIRED):
Demonstrated proficiency in an analytics-related field such as information systems, data science / analytics, statistics, computer science, mathematics.
Experience demonstrating effective visual solution design and creation with industry standard analytics tools and technologies such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
Experience demonstrating a fundamental knowledge of data engineering best practices including database design, data modeling, data orchestration and effectively leveraging SQL.
Experience with the software development life cycle using both frontend and backend programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.
Experience demonstrating version control best practices, agile methodologies, and project management tools such as Bitbucket/GitHub, JIRA, Scrum, Kanban, Roadmaps, etc.
Experience developing, analyzing, interpreting, and managing various complex data sets to drive insights with meaningful outcomes.
Experience utilizing APIs to integrate and extend capabilities of tools and services.
Experience participating in analytic projects from inception to deployment including workflow integration.
Understanding of website design principles and web development frameworks (e.g., CSS/HTML, Bootstrap, Material UI, ReactJS, AngularJS etc.).
Understanding of cloud platform services and technologies (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS).
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of professional experience in an analytics role and a Master’s Degree in an analytics-related field such as information systems, data science / analytics, statistics, computer science, mathematics.

Four years of professional experience in an analytics role and a Bachelor's Degree in an analytics-related field such as information systems, data science / analytics, statistics, computer science, mathematics.
Life-long learner.
Experience with the administration and backend of Tableau Server
Proficiency leveraging Databricks to develop comprehensive analytic solutions.
Applied understanding of graphical user interface design best practices, or human centered design methods.
Experience in a healthcare environment. Understanding of HIPAA and other applicable statutes or regulations concerning patient privacy and appropriate use and sharing of healthcare data.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$43.49 - $68.48
