Quintech Electronics and Communications, Inc. IT Technician I in INDIANA, Pennsylvania

Quintech Electronics & Communications, Inc. is seeking an IT Technician I whose primary duties will include being responsible for providing end user support and solutions for all business information and related systems across all departments of the corporation. Position responsible for hardware and software support for all business information and related systems.

Additional Duties:

  • Complete IT request work orders in an efficient, professional manner each day. Prioritize with focus on security, continuity of service and documentation.
  • Set up and install PC's, software, phones, backup systems, printers, routers, hubs, switches, and misc. devices.
  • Maintain standards for configurations of systems. Recommend changes in configuration of standard operating systems, software systems and hardware systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on systems to avoid system outages and failures.  
  • Troubleshoot user systems, network connections, software/hardware, internet, remote access, and phones as necessary. Diligently track problems until they are solved and resolved.
  • Repair and upgrade user systems as necessary.
  • Gather and analyze information regarding operating problems, issues, and trends. 
  • Ensure software and hardware is up to date; installing updates/patches as required and/or directed by department standards and policies.
  • Review system logs, utilize system tools, scan systems, and perform system tests when necessary to address performance issues and suspicious or malicious indicators.
  • Provide technical support and solution options to users utilizing technology to improve workflow and business processes.
  • Provide end user training for software and hardware with a focus on using systems and components effectively and safely, as needed.
  • Communicate matters of relevance to the IT Technician II and IT Manager regarding applicable systems, status of projects, future IT needs and requirements for end users.
  • Work with other departments on special projects as requested and required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must possess an Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Must have knowledge of typical business operations and working use of a variety of office equipment and computer software applications such as database & presentation software (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, MS access, etc). Must have Windows operating systems and network connectivity knowledge; strong office automation skills.
  • Must be well-versed in Linux OS.
  • Must be able to understand business processes as well as departmental operations and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to work on an individual basis as well as in a team environment (with a collaborative attitude), along with a demonstrated ability to report to work as scheduled and on time.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated professionalism and tact.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Work requires attention to detail with demonstrated ability to multi-task, especially in terms of planning/organizing, project/time management.
  • Must be able to work productively with minimal supervision. =
  • Must occasionally work extended hours, including weekends and nights, in response to emergencies or to avoid disruption of users.

Position is a full-time, daylight position, 4-10 schedule!
