Naval Facilities Engineering Command FACILITIES OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in Indian Head, Maryland

Summary You will serve as a Facilities Operations Specialist in the Facilities Management Division of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH. Responsibilities You will maintain facility databases or spreadsheets to report status of service requests. You will oversee inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. You will coordinate with organization and public works business lines to develop facility maintenance planning and execution strategies. You will analyze laws, regulations, and procedures to assist project managers in obtaining maximum utilization of resources. You will prepare reports to document progress of active facility projects. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Participates in project turnover to ensure the facility equipment inventory is accurately updated in Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. Maximo) at the completion of work; 2) Reviews all construction equipment inventory data files to ensure they are complete and properly formatted for upload to Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. Maximo); 3) Understands the timing of outages and the notification of planned utilities outages on behalf of the Supported Command; and 4) Assists and briefs Supported Commands on the Regional Engineer/ Public Works Department organizations and explains the process for requesting work, funding jobs, and related policies; 5) Aware of the status of all work occurring in their facilities and follows through on any items not being completed in a timely manner; 6) Monitors the emergency/service, recurring, minor/specific project, and contract expedites in assigned Supported Command's facilities and identifies when additional funds are required. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Makes visits to Supported Command sites to determine the actual nature of work requests and enters information and clarifications into Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. Maximo); 2) Meets with representatives of the shops and contracting office to review work in progress in their areas and identifies issues and concerns; 3) Participates in facility inspections; 4) Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. Maximo) for processing work; 5) Aware of the status of all work occurring in their facilities, supports induction and processing of work, and follows through on any items not being completed in a timely manner.
